There are many simple pleasures to enjoy in our day-to-day lives. For some of us, it’s enjoying the first sip of tea or coffee in the morning, while others love a good sing-song in the privacy of their car on the way to work. For me, it’s following a nightly skincare ritual.

I just love having a long soak in the bath, followed by a good pamper session that leaves my skin feeling cleansed and refreshed, so I was really excited to put a trio of products from Green People’s organic skincare range to the test.

DSC_1122 ED2Gentle Cleanse & Make-Up Remover £12.50 50ml / £21.00 200ml
Scented with rose geranium, a versatile essential oil which firms, purifies and balances sebum, this 2-in-1 cleanser and make-up remover from Green People smells divine. On first use I was instantly drawn to the delicate, floral scent, and applied the cream cleanser to my face in small circular movements as directed by the bottle.

Gentle Cleanse, which is made with 91% certified organically grown ingredients, gently rids the skin of pollutants with anti-inflammatory and skin nurturing properties from calendula and shea butter. Squalane (from olive) and jojoba esters also restore sebum production and provide an instant infusion of moisture to the skin, which left my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

I also found that the product was very effective at removing makeup – even long-lasting mascara (I tested with Green People’s Volumising Mascara) with only warm water to rinse off. The best thing is, it does all of this without the use of nasties such as parabens, lanolin, alcohol or artificial perfumes, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin.

Fruit Scrub Exfoliator £13.50 50mlDSC_1123 ED
You may have been following the various campaigns to ban the use of plastic microbeads in the UK cosmetics industry, and for good reason. Many microbeads, which are regularly used in exfoliators and toothpaste, are so tiny that they are making their way into the ocean, where they are ingested by sea creatures and being found on almost every beach worldwide. It is also likely that we are absorbing them from the seafood that we eat, and once these microbeads, which are not biodegradable, enter the marine environment they are impossible to remove.

Thankfully, there are ocean-conscious cosmetic companies out there, like Green People, who have a range of microbead-free scrubs for us to choose from.

DSC_1127 EDI tested the Fruit Scrub Exfoliator, which uses finely ground apricot kernels to exfoliate and buff away dead skin, draw out impurities and improve circulation. Not only do exfoliators such as this one combat dry, dull skin, but they are also great for enabling your moisturiser to truly penetrate your skin afterwards.

This little scrub packs a real punch, with jojoba to gently remove impurities and cleanse, marshmallow and rosemary to sooth sensitive and easily irritated skin, and mandarin and fairly traded bergamot oil for an uplifting scent.

I can say without a doubt that this little gem left my face feeling baby soft and gave me a radiant, guilt-free glow that I would recommend to anyone.

Vita Min Fix 24-Hour CreamDSC_1124 ED £16.50 50ml
Last, but by no means least, is Vita Min Fix, a daily moisturiser packed with ‘skin-food’ nutrients that feed and nourish the skin, leaving it soft, supple and radiant.

Over the years, I have struggled to find a moisturiser that leaves my dry skin feeling nourished without clogging my pores and breaking me out in spots, so I was particularly excited to try Vita Min Fix, which promises to offer instant skin hydration and balance the natural oils in your skin.

Firstly, it is absolutely packed full of essential vitamins and minerals such as the magic pair squalane (from olive) and jojoba esters to retain moisture in the skin; shea butter, evening primrose and avocado oils to protect and nurture; and a range of omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids which are essential to maintain healthy skin balance. Aloe vera, perilla oil and marshmallow are also included to reduce redness and promote a smooth, blemish-free complexion.

For those looking for anti-ageing benefits, green tea and rosemary extracts guard against long-term damage caused by pollution, stress and sun-exposure, whilst seaweed and baicalin help to slow down the ageing process and extend viable cell life.

All of these natural ingredients come together beautifully to form this powerhouse product, which is particularly beneficial when used after the aforementioned the Fruit Scrub Exfoliator. A little really does go a long way with this moisturiser, which has a soft and silky consistency, and needs only to be used once daily. I found it to be really effective, and it left my face feeling nourished and pampered, not to mention smelling fantastic.2 ED2

These three products complimented each another so perfectly, and my skin has honestly never felt, smelt or looked better. I can safely say that I will be using these products as part of my regular skincare routine from now on, and would recommend that you give them a try for yourself!
