‘A.Vogel Golden Rod & Knotgrass Herbal Tea makes a refreshing drink and contains golden rod, birch leaves, knotgrass, horsetail and wild pansy. It is packed with natural flavours and will help cleanse and refresh your system from the inside, helping to remove impurities from the body.’

I know that the sound of golden rod, birch leaves, knotgrass, horsetail and wild pansy isn’t particularly enticing. To 2_EDbe completely honest, I had low expectations for the cleaning herbal tea, I predicted that it was going to be bitter and not at all ‘refreshing’ as promised- but I am pleased to say that my first impressions were completely wrong.

A.Vogel’s directions for use are as follows: “Drink two cups per day as part of a detox programme, or one cup daily to maintain good fluid balance. Tea should be brewed for 5 minutes.”

I unwrapped one of the teabags (they are individually wrapped- something that does bring me joy) and sunk it into my mug of boiling water. As it brews, the water turns to a shade of colour that is similar to hay- brown with a hint of yellow and green.

As I took my first small sip I was extremely surprised by how truly delicious it is. It slips down my throat with ease, not what I had expected at all. Not a single tang of bitterness hit me; the herbal tea really is refreshing and so easy to drink.

3_EDIf you’re looking to gain the health benefits of golden rod (research says it’s beneficial for your kidneys, urinary tract, skin and cardiovascular system) and knotgrass (historically used to treat a number of conditions, including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, diarrhoea, heavy periods and nose bleeds), then this is the ideal product for you. By being in tea form it’s super easy to include it in your everyday diet.

For £4.59 for a box of 25 teabags from A.Vogel’s website it’s an absolute bargain!
