Khadi Natural Products are well-known for their best-selling all natural hair colours, but have branched out in recent years and now offer a range of organic certified shampoos, hair oils and skin oils.

All Khadi products are vegan-friendly, BDIH organic certified and free from SLS, peroxide, ammonia, preservatives, synthetic or artificial colours of dyes. They all contain pure Ayurvedic herbal infusions that have been prepared and blended by Ayurvedic experts in India.

Have I lost you at Ayurvedic? I’ll explain, Ayurveda is an ancient system of natural healing that has been practised in India for millennia and promotes a holistic view of beauty and wellness. This is what Khadi base themselves on, they aim to promote a beauty routine that incorporates the healing powers of herbs, oils and plants.

Nutgrass Ayurvedic Shampoo £11.90 210ml

‘This balanced Ayurvedic formulation will give longevity to hair and prevent scalp infections. Nagarmotha (cypriol) has traditionally been used to cleanse hair and control sebum production, giving oily hair volume and lift. This shampoo also contains daruharidra (Indian barberry), which has antibacterial properties.’

2_ED (2)It is an all natural shampoo, so unlike conventional ones it does not foam up; this may be an unexpected experience if you are use to using the conventional shampoos. To combat this, simply massage the scalp with shampoo first, rinse, and then shampoo the ends of your hair.

The first thing I notice as I pour it into my hands is the smell, which is very unique and almost medicinal. Hints of citrus aromas come alive as I massage my scalp; including orange, lemon and mandarin. I rinse and repeat the process on the rest of my hair, then leave it to dry naturally.

After this first use my hair is soft and super smooth, and as Khadi promises it is noticeably shinier. This is thanks to its unique blend of ingredients, including aloe vera, sweet almond oil and wheat proteins – which help to repair damage locks and promote hair growth. Aloe vera helps to moisturise and wheat proteins aid this by retaining moisture. Sweet almond oil contains vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which strengthen roots and aid hair growth.

I like the fact that 20% of its ingredients are fresh herbs, flowers and fruits. Also that’s it’s a mild shampoo created from coconut based cleaners- so it’s suitable to use everyday.

Anti-Ageing Ayurvedic Rejuvenating Oil £11.90 100ml

‘Formulated according to the ancient principles of Ayurveda, this natural and organic oil protects the skin against free radicals, boosts cell growth and repairs damaged cells, whilst improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.’

Khadi’s Anti-Ageing Oil can be used on both the face and body, and they recommend using it twice a day on damp 3_ED (1)skin. After using this oil everyday for a week, I can happily say that I am extremely impressed and would highly recommend trying it!

The application is easy as the bottle has a pump dispenser- and one pump is the perfect amount to cover your whole face. It’s super silky and smooth, and as soon as I start to apply it my skin feels revived and moisturised.

I love the subtle smell too- it’s not too overpowering, but offers an aroma of lavender mixed with sweet vanilla.

Khadi boasts that the product protects against free radicals, boosts cell growth and repairs damaged cells, as well as minimises pigmentation spots. After seven days of using it, I can confirm that my complexion is clearer, rejuvenated and more radiant. I wake up every morning to soft, supple skin thanks to the oil working its magic during the night.

It’s packed full of fantastic natural ingredients, including organic sesame oil, almond oil, organic rose extracts, patchouli oil, lavender oil and vanilla oil. The sesame oil nourishes the skin thanks to the fatty acids it contains, almond oil traps moisture in the skin to help keep it nourished and hydrated, and organic rose softens the skin whilst helping to delay the signs of ageing. Let’s not forget that rose is also rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that protects skin cells from damage. The essential oils of patchouli, lavender and vanilla soothe the skin and calm the mind.

As you only need to use one pump for each application, after a week I still have basically a full bottle- so it will last a really long time. If you’re still not convinced, I’m sure the bargain price of £11.90 will persuade you. Khadi’s Anti-Ageing Rejuvenating Oil is definitely a must-have for the beauty cabinet.
