I have to say, I was really nervous about testing this product. I’ve tried fish oil capsules in the past and just can’t stomach the fishy aftertaste and the smell that can linger for hours after taking them, so despite the great reviews I’ve heard I refused to believe it would taste nice and put off testing this until the very last minute.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. I poured the oil onto a teaspoon (the directions advise to take one to three teaspoons daily) as my colleagues giggled beside me, waiting to watch me squirm. Despite my preconceptions, I left them disappointed as I swallowed the oil and smiled – it tasted lovely!

Not fishy in the slightest, this product tasted light and citrusy, and although it was a little strange to drink oil on its own – I knew instantly that it would be perfect drizzled over a salad or blended in a smoothie.

So, why should we be taking a fish oil supplement?

A daily intake of 250g of EPA and DHA (Omega-3 fatty acids) is recommended to contribute to normal function on the heart, as well as normal vision and brain function – so they really are one of the most important nutrients for daily health and wellbeing.

However, the demand for these essential fatty acids has a great environmental impact, and so it’s important to make sure you choose the cleanest, most environmental product possible – which is what makes this, the world’s first certified organic fish oil, so great.

It comes from a completely sustainable and socially-responsible fish source (in organically controlled inland waters, meaning no nasty chemical or industrial refining), and is produced within hours using a gentle process creating fresh, non oxidised oil with a full spectrum of naturally-occurring fatty acids. And for those who, like me, don’t like a fishy taste, this is perfect – trust me.

Priced at £24.70, it may seem steep, but you only need a very small amount per day – and you can be safe in the knowledge that this product is of the absolute best quality, environmentally and nutritionally.

As someone who was initially sceptic, I would absolutely recommend this product – especially to those who dislike fish. Honestly, give it a try and you won’t look back.
