An endurance runner who ran 31 marathons in 31 days to raise funds for a good cause has completed his incredible feat.

Ben Blowes set himself the challenge in aid of Tom’s Trust 31 Stars campaign, which raises funds for the vital provision of psychological and mental health care for children with brain tumours. Each run represented a different child. Ben completed the runs during December, and among the supporters, was Target Publishing, publisher of this magazine, which pledged financial support for the cause to sponsor Demi.

Ben’s extraordinary challenge took him through iconic routes around the east of England and by completing a marathon a day, Ben hopes to raise enough funds for the charity to provide a full year of psychological care for 31 vulnerable children. As a Pride of Britain nominee, Ben has faced many running and fitness challenges in his time, including reaching the semi-final of Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week season two, but never a trial requiring so much grit, stamina and endurance as 31 marathons in 31 consecutive days.

To donate, visit Ben has also set up a 2.62-mile daily challenge for supporters during January to take part in and make a donation on the 31 Stars Justgiving page.
