An important organisation is hosting a virtual meet-up designed to encourage people outdoors to support their mental health.

Yugen Explore was created by Grace Wilson and encourages people to benefit from the great outdoors.

She has organised a virtual meet-up for two hours between 11am-1pm on December 19, in which the group will be walking virtually together as a community. This will hopefully help to improve mental health, bring people together and get more people active during winter. The rules are that you must adhere to the Government regulations for your area on the event day. Grace recommends that you walk locally, and you can incorporate walking round your garden, house or even up and down the stairs!

The idea is that people get stepping together for two hours as if you were all walking together on a hiking meet-up. Take breaks, go to the toilet or sit and drink your flask of tea like you would if you were up a mountain, just keep stepping as much as you can for the two hours.

The event, which costs £10 to enter, will raise money for the FareShare charity to help fight hunger. Find out more at https://www.yugenexplore.com/meet-ups/
